High Ropes

Registration is now open for all EdVenture Camps

Touch of Nature Environmental Center offers a variety of exciting, educational, and adventurous summer camps or as we call them EdVenture Camps.  They fall into the three categories below:

  • Eco Day Camps - Ages 7-10
  • Explorer Camps – Ages 10-13
  • Voyageur Camps – Ages 13-15 

Below are the descriptions for our 2017 EdVenture Camps.

Eco Day Camps

Survival 101 Day Camp (Ages 7-10) $200
Monday, June 5 – Friday, June 9
Hands-on programs will build introductory knowledge of nature connection and survival skills.  Activities include introductory hiking and paddling, shelter building, water collection, fire building, team building, keeping a positive attitude, reading maps and compass, and more.

X-Treme Kids Day Camp (Ages 7-10), $225
Session 1:  Monday, June 12 - Friday, June 16

X-Treme Kids Day Camp is the best way to get out and enjoy the wilderness.  The fun never stops with each day full of exciting activities - hiking, paddle boat rides, nature art, ziplining, rock climbing and more.  take you memories home with you with your tie-dyed camp shirt.  Get ready to get outside, have adventures and make new friends!

Blue Planet Day Camp (Ages 7-10) $200
Monday, June 26 – Friday, June 30
Blue Planet Camp is in the water, on the water and all about the water, with activities and programs focusing on its importance and our connection to it.  Campers will hike along shorelines, study watersheds and aquatic habitats, dip net, canoe and/or kayak on beautiful Little Grassy Lake, and much more.

X-Treme Kids Day Camp (Ages 7-10), $225
Session 2:  Monday, July 10 - Friday, July 14

Explorer Camps

Survival 102 Day Camp (Ages 10-13) $200,
Monday, June 12 – Friday, June 16 (with optional overnights,
Thursday, June 15 and Friday, June 16.), $275
Spend the week exploring Touch of Nature’s 3,100 acres while learning survival and ancestral skills.   Then spend the last two days and nights on expedition practicing your skills and gaining overnight experience (overnights optional).  Campers will hike and paddle while learning skills preparing them to camp and recreate in the beautiful Southern Illinois landscape and beyond.

Explorer Camps

Adventures Underway Overnight Camp (Ages 10-13) $450
Monday, June 19 - Friday, June 23
Experience a week of adventure at Touch of Nature!  Spend the day rock climbing, walking on our high ropes course, hiking, canoeing and more. Learn survival skills that would make Bear Grylls jealous and wear your awesome tie-dyed shirt home when your parents pick you up. Enjoy classic camp traditions - roasting marshmallows, hanging out in our cabins, and sleeping under the stars.

Wild Outdoor Week (W.O.W.) Day Camp (Ages 10-13) $250
Monday, July 24 - Friday, July 28
Wild Outdoor Week (WOW!) day camp is the wildest way to spend summer days in Southern Illinois. Come join us for swimming, rock climbing, canoeing and ziplining! Your days will be jam-packed with all of that plus learning survival skills and tie-dyeing your own souvenir T-shirt.

Voyageur Camps

Southern Adventures Day Camp  (Ages-13-15) $300
Monday, July  17 - Friday, July 21
Explore Southern Illinois’ hidden gems! Spend each day going on new adventures; climbing sandstone bluffs, exploring swamps and snorkel at a local scuba training center. The places you’ll see include Jackson Falls, Bell Smith Springs, Mermet Springs and the Cache River. Southern Adventures is limited to 14 campers.
