Community support is what makes our organization and mission thrive! Individuals, couples, and families are invited to become members of the center. Our members join because they believe in our mission in providing quality experiential educational programs for our community. Members receive discounts on summer camps and facility rentals with the knowledge that their support keeps our center thriving and making a difference to the communities it serves. In addition to volunteering your time and energy, individuals and organizations may donate directly to Touch of Nature to support any of our programs or improvements to our grounds and facilities. To donate to Touch of Nature online (through the SIU Foundation), click here.
If you're an SIU faculty or staff member, please consider enrolling a payroll deduction to support us.
Our largest annual fundraiser is the Buffalo Tro. Community members are invited to Touch of Nature for a dinner, live music and live and silent auctions. Guests can purchase a meal ticket, sponsor the event, donate items to the auctions and purchase auction items in the silent and live events.
The Friends of Touch of Nature also offer annual fundraising events including social events and fundraisers that are partnered with local restaurants.
Our Welcome Plaza
A new welcome plaza is under construction at our main entrance leading to Camp 2. It will be a continuously growing memorial plaza to celebrate our loved ones, which will include bricks and paved stones etched with their names. The plaza will also provide historical and educational information and provide a space for guests and visitors to enjoy the outdoors.
Groups, individuals and businesses are invited to show their support for both Touch of Nature and the project by purchasing bricks and pavers, which will be placed in the plaza. Information on the project and an engraved brick order form is available at our Welcome Plaza Page.
Volunteering your time and energy is another great way to support Touch of Nature. Our typical areas of need for volunteers include trails, facilities, public programs, special events and special projects.
