Touch of Nature’s 2018 Summer Camp season runs June through August for campers of all ages.

Camp Little Giant has been offering lifetime memories and experiences since 1952 and is one of the first residential camps of its kind in the nation to offer camping opportunities for people with physical, cognitive and developmental disabilities. 

Touch of Nature Environmental Center, located near the beautiful Shawnee National Forest in Southern Illinois, offers a variety of exciting, educational, and adventurous summer camps, or as we call them EdVenture CampsWhat better way to mix education, fun and an appreciation of the natural world around us.

EdVenture Summer Camps serve children ages 7-15. Each camp offers a variety of different adventures and exciting education components that will keep your child busy all summer!

Visit our EdVenture page and find out about our overnight and day camps.  Registration will soon be available for all EdVenture Camps. Convenient payment plans are also available.  

Camp Little Giant

Camp Little Giant

Camp Little Giant offers camps to children and adults ages 8 to 88. Camp Little Giant is a 1 to 2 week long residential camp serving individuals with physical, cognitive and developmental disabilities, designed to meet the needs of everyone! Activities include: swimming, boating, horseback riding, nature quests, fishing, arts and much more.

Dawg Days New Student Retreat

Dawg Days is a four-day and three-night new student retreat for incoming freshmen and transfer at Southern Illinois University. Incoming students can sign up for Dawg Days as an optional program and will spend their time at Touch of Nature getting to know new people, learning about SIU traditions and finding out what it means to be a Saluki. Go Dawgs!

Respite Camps

Respite Camps are for adults ages 18 to 88. The Camp Little Giant tradition continues into the fall with the Traditions Respite Camp. Adults with physical, cognitive or developmental disabilities will enjoy an authentic overnight camp experience. Activities include arts and crafts, sports and games, beachfront activities, boating, dancing, a hayride, a campfire and much more.
