EdVenture Camps

Touch of Nature Environmental Center offers a variety of exciting, educational, and adventurous summer camps or as we call them EdVenture Camps.  They fall into the three categories below:

  • Eco Day Camps - Ages 7-10
  • Explorer Camps – Ages 10-13
  • Voyageur Camps – Ages 13-15 

Discounts available on EdVenture Camps:

  • Multi-Camp discount: Register for ANY three or more camps and receive a 10 percent discount off the third and additional registration fees.
  • Multi-camper discount: Register ANY two campers and receive a 10 percent discount of the second and additional registration fees
  • Touch of Nature members at Three-Year Level ($150) or above receive a 10 percent discount on each camp.

Eco Camps (Ages 7-10)

Survival 101 Day Camp
June 11-15  $225

Have you always wondered what it is like to survive in the wild like your pal Bigfoot? Then come to Survival 101 and learn beginner survival skills and Leave No Trace principles. Touch of Nature’s staff will help campers gain the knowledge and experience of fundamental survival skills.  Campers will get the opportunity to try something new by zooming down our zip-line, exploring the wilderness, shelter building and more.

June 18-22  $225

X-Treme Kids Day Camp Session 1 is at capacity, but don't let that stop children ages 7-10 from having an awesome summer.  Registration is still open for Session 2 in July and our other Eco Camps have room.  Also, 10 year-olds can register for all of our Explorers Camps.  

Blue Planet Adventure Day Camp
June 25-29  $225

The fun never stops at Touch of Nature’s Blue Planet Adventure Day Camp. Campers will learn how to protect our most important natural resource by exploring the Little Grassy Lake watershed. While exploring the lake, campers will learn how to kayak by paddling to Touch of Nature’s Rocky Ledges. Campers will participate in water-based games, learn about aquatic animals, enjoy the thrill of riding on a zip-line, and get to ride on a Pontoon boat. Each camper will be able to keep camp memories throughout the year by wearing their summer camp T-shirt and using their Blue Planet water bottle.

X-Treme Kids Day Camp:  Session 2
July 16-20  $225

X-Treme Kids Day Camp is the best way to get out and enjoy the wilderness. The fun never stops as each day is full of exciting activities- hiking, paddleboat rides, nature art, ziplining and rock climbing.  All campers will be able to bring the memories they made at camp home with a souvenir T-shirt.  Get ready to get outside, have adventures and make new friends!

Explorers (Ages 10-13)

Survival 102 Day Camp 
June 18-22  $275 (*300)

Create a better working relationship between yourself and nature in Touch of Nature’s 3,100 acres of wilderness. Learn advanced survival skills, tricks and tips. Activities include hiking, navigation using a map and compass, canoeing, shelter and fire building, environmental stewardship, and much more! Campers will apply all their skills learned throughout the week to complete a survival challenge.

 *If you want an even bigger challenge, Survival 102 will offer an optional overnight experience on Thursday, June 21 for an additional $25Overnight pricing will include overnight supervision, all gear, Thursday night dinner, Friday breakfast, and lunch.

Explorers (Ages 10-13)

Adventures Underway Overnight Camp
June 25-29  $450

Experience a week of adventure at Touch of Nature! Spend the day rock climbing, walking on tight ropes, hiking, canoeing and more. Learn survival skills that would make Bear Grylls jealous! Explore what it is like to be a fish with “Try Scuba” at Mermet Springs (local scuba training center). While your adventures are underway, enjoy some classic camp traditions- roasting marshmallows over the fire, hanging out in our cabins and sleeping under the stars.

Wild Outdoor Week (W.O.W.) Day Camp
July 9-13  $275

Wild Outdoor Week (WOW!) day camp is the wildest way to spend summer days in Southern Illinois. Join us for swimming, rock climbing, canoeing, our high ropes course and ziplining! Your days will be jam- packed with activities, plus learning survival skills and tie-dyeing your own souvenir T-shirt.  

Voyageurs Camps (Ages 13-15)

Southern Adventures Day Camp
July 9-13  $300

At Southern Adventures Day Camp campers get to explore the hidden gems of Southern Illinois. Spend your days going on new adventures by climbing sandstone bluffs, exploring swamps, and learning how to scuba dive at Mermet Springs (local scuba training center). The places you will explore include Jackson Falls, Bell Smith Springs, Heron Pond, and the Cache River. Southern Adventures is limited to 14 participants
