The success of our camps, programs, events and outreach depends on the support of community members.
Touch of Nature Outdoor Education Center actively engages many different audiences by offering enjoyable and educational programs for children, youth, adults and seniors. We actively nurture engagement and involvement, and promote diversity and inclusiveness through our varied programs.
Volunteers are always needed and appreciated during our many public events and camps throughout the year, including the Maple Syrup Festival, Haunted Hollow, and many others.
Touch of Nature is Southern Illinois University's outdoor learning laboratory. We would be more than happy to work with your school, group or organization in exploring Touch of Nature's natural beauty or even arrange a visit from our staff.
Volunteers are needed to assist in building the mountain bike trails. Community service and Saluki Volunteer Corps and Environmental Ambassador Award hours are available for volunteers, and community is always welcome. Help us build our trails!
