These events help us fulfill parts of our mission, including enhancing experiential learning and increasing environmental awareness.

Touch of Nature is committed to offering our participants safe, fun, and enjoyable experiences devoted to equity, inclusion and diversity.

  • Little Grassy Get Down

    October 9-11, 2026

    The Little Grassy Get Down at SIU Touch of Nature Outdoor Education Center is a family-friendly music festival featuring mostly original acoustic Americana music from around the Midwest.

  • Haunted Hallow Weekend

    October 25, 2026

    Our free, fall family fun festival returns! The Haunted Hollow provides a perfect Halloween atmosphere for everyone with a balance of laughs and gasps in a safe and fun environment. Costumes are encouraged!

  • Maple Syrup Festival

    March 21-22, 2026

    Maple Syrup Festival is Touch of Nature's annual pancake breakfast that features vendors, demonstrations, kids activities and most importantly 100% real maple syrup on big fluffy pancakes!

    The Southern Illinois Outdoor Summit brings together outdoor professionals, agencies, businesses, and enthusiasts to grow a vibrant, sustainable outdoor economy. Connect, collaborate, and get inspired through workshops, speakers, and hands-on experiences.
