Looking to Cater?

As Touch of Nature is a department of SIU, guests and clients looking to cater meals at Touch of Nature must utilize one of SIU's Approved Caterers. 

Touch of Nature Outdoor Education Center offers convenient in-house food service at Freeberg Dining Hall to help make your retreat, conference, meeting, or special event a breeze.

Our kitchen team prepares hearty, camp-style meals designed to keep your group full and satisfied for the adventures ahead. While we may not serve gourmet fare, our meals are warm, filling, and made with care.

We’re happy to accommodate most dietary restrictions with appropriate substitutions. If anyone in your group has a food allergy or dietary need, please communicate those details directly with your event’s program coordinator. Final headcounts and dietary restriction lists are due two weeks before your event to ensure proper ordering and preparation.

Looking to make your event even more memorable? Ask your program coordinator about the potential for experiential meal options—like a campfire hot dog roast or a classic s’mores night under the stars.
