Camp tailored for campers diagnosed with ADHD ages 8-12. Dyna Camp is designed for children and teenagers with ADHD who do not need the level of support offered at special needs overnight camps yet need a different experience than a large traditional overnight camp can offer. This camp has a Sunday PM Drop and Friday PM Pick Up.
This camp is not a medical/treatment/therapy-based camp. Program models traditional summer camp activities with special attention given to individual needs throughout the week.
Camp may be a perfect fit for your camper if they are working on the following:
- Developing perspective taking skills (understanding how you’re perceived by others, understanding other’s thoughts, feelings and intentions)
- Initiating conversations with similar-age peers with self-confidence.
- Understanding ideas and concepts rather than just focusing on small details
- Coping with frustrations or disappointments
- Learning how to be part of a social group
- Sportsmanship
- Understand non-verbal social communication (reading social cues)
- Learning how to use humor appropriately and relate to other’s experiences
- Exhibiting age-appropriate and situation-appropriate emotional regulation
- Transitions and unexpected changes in schedule

- Lillypads, Ages 9-13, June 18-23
Lillypads: June 18-23, 2023, $750.00
Lillypads is tailored to the special needs of children who struggle in social spheres or need a little more attention than a traditional camp may offer. Whether diagnosed with Autism Spectrum, generalized anxiety, ADHD, or social anxiety, the Lilypads section of Camp Little Giant fosters friendship development, gently guides personal development and nurtures social growth in all campers. This camp does not require a diagnosis to attend! This camp is also for campers who just may not be ready for a camp with 50+ campers with high staff ratios! This camp has a Sunday Drop Off - Friday PM Pick Up.

- Large sleepaway camps seem intimidating or have not been successful in the past
- The thought of sleeping in a large bunkhouse would induce worry in the camper

- Camper becomes uncomfortable with transitions and unexpected changes in schedule
- Camper is uneasy about trying new activities
- Camper is actively learning how to be part of a social group
- Camper needs support learning how to be part of a social group
- Camper needs support forming and sustaining friendships with similar-age peers
- Camper is working on interactions with similar-age peers with self-confidence

- Dynamic Duos! Session 1, (Adults 18+), June 25-30
Dynamic Duos! Session 1: June 25-30, 2023, $1250.00
Dynamic Duos! adults is catered to adults with developmental, cognitive or physical disabilities and their college/adult aged peers. Campers participate side by side with their camp “buddy” in traditional summer camp activities including hiking, swimming, kayaking, arts and crafts, rock climbing, ropes course and team building.
Camp “buddies” will be paired with your camper for the camp week. They will be a bunk mate, meal mate, activity mate and helping hand to their buddy with a disability.
Camp may be a perfect fit for your camper if:
- Camper would benefit from an inclusive environment supporting independence, building a community, being empowered physically and emotionally and having FUN
- Has cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism, spina bifida or other disability limiting participation in a large traditional camp
- Enjoys companionship with a 1:1 camp buddy
IF camper does not meet EEC and has a caregiver that will provide services allowing camper to meet EEC, they may be considered for acceptance on a case-by-case basis. Contact program coordinator for details.
Campers should have the skills to handle the sleep-away-from-home aspects of the camp program, including living independently in a group setting and taking care of their own personal needs with prompting when needed. (Independent completing ADL’s including but not limited to toileting, hygiene, feeding, dressing and transfers).

Dynamic Duos! adults is catered to adults with developmental, cognitive or physical disabilities and their college/adult aged peers. Campers participate side by side with their camp “buddy” in traditional summer camp activities including hiking, swimming, kayaking, arts and crafts, rock climbing, ropes course and team building.

Dynamic Duos! teens is catered to teens with developmental or cognitive disabilities and their peers inclusively. Campers participate side by side with their camp “buddy” in traditional summer camp activities including hiking, canoeing, fishing, rock climbing, swimming and high ropes course.
Camp “buddies” will be paired with a camper for the camp week. They will be a bunk mate, meal mate and helping hand to their buddy with a disability. Must be 15+ to be a volunteer duo buddy for Duos! teens.
Camp may be a perfect fit for your camper if:
- Camper would benefit from an inclusive environment supporting independence, building a community, being empowered physically and emotionally and having FUN
- Has cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism, spina bifida or other disability limiting participation in a large traditional camp
- Enjoys companionship with a 1:1 camp buddy
