Camp Little Giant Campers

Camp Little Giant is more than just an outdoor experience; it is an adventure in learning and growth, with the opportunity for campers to establish lasting friendships.

We believe our campers are capable of doing more than they think possible. Our philosophy is to allow campers to develop a "can do" attitude. Our goal is for campers to increase their confidence and independence, while learning new recreation skills.

About Camp Little Giant

Camp Little Giant has served campers with disabilities since 1952. It was the first camp for individuals with disabilities in the nation, the first camp accredited by the American Camp Association, and we ultimately paved the way for the Special Olympics.

Respite Camp

The Camp Little Giant tradition continues into the fall with Respite Camp. Adults 18 and older with physical, cognitive or developmental disabilities will enjoy a 3 day, 2 night camp experience. This 3-day program is in partnership with the students from the SIU Recreation Therapy program.
